2010
High above the dense shade cast by giant tree ferns in Kilauea’s rainforest, the shiny new leaves on the Kolea lau nui tree reach skyward. In this painting, the liko – or leaf bud – on a young tree is luminous as it unfurls in the morning sunshine. The Kolea lau nui (Myrsine lessertiana) is found only in the Hawaiian Islands.
This framed original oil painting measures 20"x16".
