'Couple' a welded copper petroglyph by Frank Andrews

This petroglyph's original location can be found at Puako on the Big Island of Hawaii.  A limited edition this one is number 161/200 and measures 10"x10".

Frank calls this body of work Ki'i Pohaku.  Hawaiian Petroglyphs in welded copper.

"Petroglyph figures, chipped with stone tools into smooth pahoehoe lava flows, can be found on all Hawaiian islands, near coastlines and along prehistoric trails.  Most of the images were left behind by ancient Polynesian inhabitants and contain both religous and social messages although their exact meanings are cloaked in mystery.
