Dietrich Varez

The Volcano Art Center Gallery's "signature artist" is Dietrich Varez, who charmingly depicts old Hawai'i lifestyles and legends in his signed prints, beautifully illustrated books, and vibrant oil paintings. Dietrich is one of the Big Island's most beloved printmakers, whose over 225 distinctive Hawaiiana prints are available at our Gallery. To create his brown, monocolor prints, he first carves a linoleum block, makes a silk screen from it, and then personally hand-screens and signs each and every one. Dietrich firmly believes that art should be affordable to everyone and, for this reason, he steadfastly refuses to number his prints and continues to offer them at low prices. Please see our Ordering Information to view our complete ordering, payment, shipping & handling, and exchanges & returns policies. We welcome your inquiries via email, toll free phone (866) 967-7565, on island phone (808) 967-7565. Our business hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (except Christmas day).
